I’m Mvelo — known creatively as MX — a South African content producer, videographer, and digital designer with over 10 years’ experience in the creative, advertising, and marketing industries.

Starting as a Loeries Award-winning designer, I’ve built a career grounded in design thinking and creative execution — blending aesthetics with strategy to develop content that connects across brands, platforms, and formats.

I’ve worked across agencies, corporates, and freelance projects, producing for both household and global brands including Shield, Aromat, SlowMag, Hansa Pilsner, Champion, Axe, Halls, Eno, Grandpa, Biostrath, and more. My work spans portfolios from Unilever, Mondelez, GSK, and Merc Group, contributing as both a creative partner and brand ambassador to build brand equity through visual storytelling.

Currently, I serve as a Senior Digital Designer and Videographer, producing fashion and fragrance content for Edgars South Africa — working on brands such as Montblanc, Gucci, and Paco Rabanne.

In parallel, I work across a diverse FMCG client base, producing content for brands like Iwisa, Power Up, Golden Delight, and Snowflake — with a strong focus on content creation, conceptualization, and campaign execution.

What I do

  • Content production — from fashion editorials and events to social-first campaigns, OOH assets, and full-scale TVCs.

  • Video directing, editing, and camera operation — leading video-first shoots while collaborating across stills-first sets, working seamlessly with diverse creative teams and personalities to deliver refined, inspiring content.

  • Art direction and concept execution — shaping work from brief to final cut.

  • Strategy and presentation — translating insights into creative ideas, then leading multi-department execution across brands.


Whether operating a full-frame camera, Red epic dragon 6k,  Sony A7R V, or iPhone, I lead by example — capturing, directing, and building content designed to inspire and perform. I’m equally comfortable directing large crews as I am working agile on-location or in-studio — adapting to context without losing creative clarity.
I’ve managed content scheduling, OOH asset delivery, and cross-functional collaboration with marketing, brand, and design teams — maintaining high standards from concept to rollout.
